Overview

Join the ICE East Midlands Knowledge and Networking Committee for this event which brings together leading researchers from Loughborough University, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Sheffield to showcase recent advances in lightweight steel structures.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr Jurgen Becque, associate professor at the University of Cambridge
  • Dr Seyed Mohammad Mojtabaei, senior lecturer at Loughborough University
  • Prof. Iman Hajirasouliha, professor of structural engineering at the University of Sheffield

They will discuss the latest developments in the design, behaviour, modelling, and optimisation of innovative lightweight steel structural solutions, with a focus on their practical application in modular construction.

Drawing on current research projects, experimental studies, and industry collaborations, the speakers will discuss emerging challenges, opportunities to improve resilience, sustainability and efficiency, and what the future holds for lightweight steel structures.

Please note: The nearest parking is multi-storey car park 1, with payment at the machine.
