Overview

This CPD presentation provides an overview of the Benacre and Kessingland Flood Risk Management Scheme, a complex coastal and fluvial project on the Suffolk coast.

The session explores the project drivers, funding, design development, preconstruction and construction challenges associated with replacing ageing pumping infrastructure, realigning watercourses and embankments, and managing significant environmental, ground condition and access constraints.

Attendees will gain insight into collaborative working between risk management authorities, designers and contractors, and the innovative approaches adopted to reduce flood risk, protect key infrastructure, and create new intertidal habitat.
