Overview
2026 has been an important year for the civil engineering profession in Canada, with several major infrastructure projects transitioning from the design phase to construction and accelerating across the country. These developments continue to create new opportunities for the profession in Canada and across the Americas.
Throughout the year, the ICE Ontario Branch has reviewed its strategic priorities and planning objectives for the next 3 to 5 years. The Branch has also maintained a strong focus on student engagement through university events, knowledge sharing initiatives, networking opportunities, and site visits.
The 2026 AGM will provide a brief review of the Branch's activities during the year, updates on strategy and planning, and an overview of priorities for the year ahead. The meeting will also include the election of the 2026–27 Committee.
The Committee currently includes 7 officers and approximately 15 general committee members, representing experienced professionals, recently qualified engineers, graduates, and students. Members support activities across Membership, Knowledge, Student Events, and Sustainability. ICE Graduate and Student members, including full-time undergraduate students, are encouraged to participate.
The AGM will be held in a hybrid format. The in-person meeting will take place at Suite 400, 145 Wellington Street West, Toronto. Attendees are invited to arrive at 5:30 p.m. for networking prior to the meeting. Refreshments will be provided, with an additional networking session following the AGM.
