Overview
Join the TWf for an engaging event exploring innovative engineering solutions, effective temporary works practices, and lessons learned from major construction and redevelopment projects.
Andun will present the temporary works engineering behind the landmark One Leadenhall development, including the design and installation of climbing chocking frames within the lift cores and a cantilever tower crane grillage used to support construction of the 35-storey tower.
Zealux will provide practical insight into improving the temporary works briefing process, focusing on how Designated Individuals (DIs) and Temporary Works Coordinators (TWCs) can make better use of industry knowledge and resources at the briefing stage. Drawing on John Carpenter's work on soft hazards, the GIRI Guide and the British Design Council's Double Diamond methodology, the session will explore approaches to identifying risks earlier, improving communication and creating more effective and structured briefings.
Robertson Construction and Will Rudd Davidson will jointly present the King's Theatre Redevelopment Project, highlighting the challenges, successes and key lessons learned from this significant restoration and redevelopment scheme.
