This event will showcase the experience of three aspiring engineers, speaking on three very different topics:

  • “The refurbishment of a triple span masonry arch bridge in Llangernyw” - John Seed (MWT Civil Engineering Ltd. – Colwyn Bay)
  • “The Design of a mechanically stabilised earth retaining wall at Ger y Nant, Y Felinheli” - Martin Williams (Cadarn Consulting – Llangefni)
  • “A487 Bow Street to Dole active travel route” - James Beaumont (North & Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency – Aberaeron)

John Seed

John is a graduate member of the ICE with 10 years’ experience working for main contractors in North Wales. He gained his BEng (hons) civil engineering at Coleg Llandrillo, before completing a four-year MSc further learning programme with Dawnus Construction Ltd. John has recently completed an ICE Mentor Supported Training Agreement and is currently preparing for his IEng Professional Review. His current role is engineering manager at MWT Civil Engineering Ltd, and he has also recently become a member of the ICE North Wales GSAT committee.

Martin Williams

Martin gained a BEng with Honours in civil engineering from Liverpool John Moores University and is a Graduate Member of the ICE. Martin is currently employed as a senior engineer with Cadarn Consulting Engineers. Martin is a dedicated committee member of the ICE North Wales GSAT committee and is a registered as a trainee on the Cadarn ICE Company Approved Training Scheme working towards IEng, Professional Qualification.
