Overview
Members are invited to attend an online lecture: ‘Assessing Historical Structures’. This webinar will be delivered by Dr Dave Gent, specialising in the inspection, assessment and remediation of historic metallic bridges and links in with the recently announced call for papers on the topic of Managing and Preserving Historic Bridges and Structures.
This webinar focuses on why it is important to assess historic structures and to ensure they are assessed correctly. It will also answer why it is crucial to understand the limitations of assessment tools when undertaking those assessments. Dave will also provide an overview of past, present and future assessment tools, as well as discuss why past techniques should not be used when assessing structures that were designed and built using them.
