Overview
This presentation is a summary of work undertaken in 2014 to secure a temporary LIDAR unit to the Bell Rock Lighthouse. A large 600MW wind farm was proposed just 5km from Bell Rock and the LIDAR purpose was to log wind data in the area over a two year period. The presentation slides show the design process, including survey, concept design, drawings and construction over three separate site visits throughout 2014. In addition, the presentation looks at the Bell Rock build and the inspiration for it, specifically the Smeaton light in Plymouth and other wave washed lighthouses around the coast of the UK.
