Join the ICE East Midlands North Nottingham North Derbyshire branch for this informative lecture. The landslip experienced at Berry Hill Quarry came about due to a period of prolonged heavy rainfall in November 2019.
Unprecedented levels of rainfall in a very short space of time caused the cliff slope to become saturated, leading to a section of the cliff face falling into the gardens of properties on Bank End Close and Stone Bank in Berry Hill Quarry.
The council put together a project team to give 24-hour support to the emergency. The team coordinated the evacuation, provided daily support and resident liaison along with facilitating residents safe return home.
The event will consider the issues surrounding the landslide, initial response, long term remedial works and lessons learned.
This event is a great opportunity for students, graduates and apprentices looking to grow their network and learn about landslips.
