Overview

For more than 50 years, Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites have been successfully used in many industries. Join ICE Shropshire branch as they explore the benefits FRP has for the industry.

Presented by Steven Dunn, this presentation will introduce the concept of using resin infused FRP materials rather than steel, timber and concrete, the history of FRP composites in construction, feasibility, design, supply and installation and the environmental benefits.

Steven Dunn

Steven is business development manager at Lifespan Structures Limited with more than 30 years’ experience within the industry.

A graduate in civil engineering, Steve worked at Tilbury Douglas Construction as an engineer on major bridges, highways and water industry projects.

His career later developed to more technical and commercial roles, supporting clients, specialist contractors and leading consulting engineers within the civil engineering and building refurbishment market.

His specialist sectors include structural concrete repair, structural strengthening utilising carbon fibre plate, composites, adhesives and ultra-high modulus plates for cast iron structures.
