Michael O’Shea

He is also Course Director for the TUS BEng Civil Engineering programme and research lead for its Civil Engineering Research Group (CERG).

Michael also has over 20 years’ industry experience, including running his own consulting engineering practice after working for large engineering consultants and contractors, mainly on large building and transport infrastructure projects.

He is a Chartered Engineer and a committee member for the RoI region of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). He has previously acted as Delegated Engineer for graduate engineers on ICE training programmes. He is a member of two subcommittees of NSAI TC15, the National Eurocodes Consultative Committee involved in the development of the 2nd generation of Eurocodes.

Janet Lynch

Janet is a Chartered Civil Engineer with Engineers Ireland and has over 20 years’ experience of resource efficiency in the built environment with Arup Dublin and London and Dublin City Council. She is currently assisting Transport Infrastructure Ireland with creation of its Circular Economy Plan. Her projects include Crossrail, London 2012 Olympics, DART Underground, N6 Galway City Ring Road and Bus Connects. She is also Chair of the NSAI Standards Committee Circular Economy in Construction.

Elliot Neale

Elliot is an Incorporated Civil Engineer with a background in major civil engineering projects including the US Embassy in London, Crossrail and East West Rail. He has predominantly been based in Contracting, managing direct delivery workforces in all lifecycle stages of a project.

His role in Jacobs is as a member of a Construction Advisory team, with a core aim of providing buildability assurance in design and providing key efficiencies in project metrics: carbon, cost and time. Key project involvements in this role include the Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal and Eirgrid’s 400kV Kildare to Meath Power Upgrade. Elliot is a recognised Subject Matter Expert in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and aims to demonstrate the benefits of this approach on his projects.

Yvonne Murphy

Yvonne Murphy is a Principal Engineer and Design Lead at Mott MacDonald specialising in water engineering.

Yvonne has designed and project managed a wide variety of schemes from river works/flood management to water and wastewater structures and networks.

She is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Manager and Environmentalist and has an ongoing active involvement with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), having served as committee member and Past Chair of ICE Wales, General Member and Trustee of ICE Council for a three-year term (2015-2018) and as Visitor, Trustee and Member of the Board of Management of the ICE Benevolent Fund.

Yvonne is currently ICE Benevolent Fund Chair, ICE Republic of Ireland committee member and Country Representative, and is a Mentor, Delegate Engineer, Supervising Civil Engineer, Sponsor and Reviewer for ICE professional reviews, helping to support ICE members working towards professional qualification. She is also an Ambassador for STEM careers, organising events to encourage schoolchildren and young people.
