Overview

Please note that this competition is only open to ICE members in the North West Region.

Join us as we launch our ICE North West Poster Competition 2024, focussing on how the role of civil engineers is positively contributing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

In this supporting webinar, our guest speaker Blake Scott, consultant civil engineer at WSP, and ICE Future Leader for 2022/2023 will be covering:

  • History of the UN and Sustainability
  • Millennium Development Goals
  • UN SDGs
  • The UN SDGs at project Level
  • SDG assessment tool

In the second part of the event, Giuliana Kyerematen chair of the ICE NW Early Careers Committee will then introduce the SDGs in action poster competition - a great development opportunity to deepen your understanding around this topic, a key requirement for anyone pursuing ICE chartership.

The competition is open to ICE members in the North West region.

Three finalists will be selected to present their poster to a panel of judges in an online event.

The winner will receive a prize of £150, with £50 and £25 for the second and third place respectively.

Why you should enter:

  • Raise your profile within the ICE and engineering community.
  • Develop key communication skills in creating and presenting your poster.
  • Boost your continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Be in with a chance to win a cash prize.
  • Develop your understanding of the UN SDGs a key requirement for ICE chartership.
  • Promote how the work you do as an engineer contributes towards the UN SDGs.
