Overview
This session is hosted by the North West Graduates and Students branch with guest speaker Andy Threlfall, Head of Technical Assurance at Costain.
In this event Andy will be talking about what constitutes a design, how different elements are carried out and the differences between good and poor design. This will include design codes, how factors of safety and assumptions are used and the importance of clarity and capturing changes within a design.
The presentation will focus on the CDM aspects of projects, as well as ensuring the competency of designers and engineers on site using notable failures as learning points.
