Overview

This is Part 1 of the webinar series “Designing for the 21st century” by the ICE North East Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) Action Group.

Join us and guest speaker Kelda Lyons, senior inclusive design consultant at AtkinsRéalis, for an interactive webinar focused on inclusive design for highways and active travel.

We'll start with a brief introduction to the principles of inclusive design, followed by a 5-minute breakout session where attendees will have the opportunity to share their perspectives on inclusive design.

We will dive into case studies on highways and active travel schemes, and reflect on how we talk about inclusive design in our everyday work activities and projects.

The session will close by considering how we can foster collaborative working to support the inclusion of inclusive design, followed by a Q&A.
