Overview

This event is an overview of skills required for the energy transition while also exploring relevant educational opportunities.

The energy skills landscape is evolving as energy transition and low-carbon activities increase across North-East Scotland. It is essential to develop relevant and accessible training in these areas that meet employer requirements. This is to enable individuals to upskill while helping build the workforce of the future that will attract new investment into the region and support energy transition projects.

This presentation considers the National Energy Skills Accelerator (NESA)'s work to understand and address energy transition skills shortages. It will include an overview of high-demand skills, outline regional barriers and challenges to accessing skills, and highlight new courses that are available in the region’s universities and colleges.
