Overview
John Cowland was assigned the task of introducing the first liner into solid waste landfills in Hong Kong in 1986. He has been passionate about geosynthetics ever since.
Hong Kong landfills are some of the biggest in the world and they are located in steep valleys. In this presentation John will describe his work on lining steep slopes and also using large geogrid reinforced fill structures to increase the void space in the landfills.
