Overview

The presentation will be for approximately 40 minutes as requested by the ICE, with a 20 minute open floor Q&A session for all attendees. The presentation will include significant health and safety risks in the construction industry and controls required to manage these risks as expected by our clients and regulatory bodies.

Over the years health and safety standards are well known within the construction industry, however the industry still has a familiar incident record with similar types of incidents and injuries occurring. Why is this still the case?

Leadership and culture are paramount when implementing management systems to identify and reduce significant risks. A risk assessment and method statement are important tools, however they don't create or experience incidents - people have incidents. Therefore, fostering a ‘challenge behaviour and no claim’ culture can assist in implementing and maintaining robust standards.

Included in the presentation are examples of tools and systems that Jones Bros utilise on our sites to implement and maintain high standards as part of the equation to reduce risks, the other main and most important factor is our people.
