Overview
ICE South West Hinkley Point City Club, in conjunction the TWF (Temporary Works Forum), are proud to present their first Summer Webinar. Steve Hesketh, TWF Director, will focus on the challenges of bringing innovative new structural products to the UK Construction Industry.
High performance steels within the strength ranges of 600 to 1300 MPa have been used extensively in the automotive and construction plant equipment manufacturing industries for over 20 years. In terms of structural steelwork EN1993 was extended to cover steel grades up to S700 in 2007, yet the use of the materials in structural applications within the UK has been limited.
Steve's talk will focus on the issues of using S700 steel for a structural support system, including design assisted by testing, prototyping, load testing, quality, manufacturing Execution Class 3 to BS EN1090 and assembly and safe use.
