Overview

This presentation on the Inverness Airport Railway Station project will include details of the design, planning applications and construction for the project.

It will look at the disciplines and packages required to deliver the different elements of scheme including a new twin platform station, 1300m passing loop with earthworks, the closure of Dalcross LX and the new rail connection at West Fraser.

Robert McCafferty

Robert is a track engineer with over 27 years’ experience of track design, construction and management on multi-disciplinary rail projects in both the UK and Australia. 

Robert is currently the technical head of track for BAM Nuttall. In this role Robert provides strategic advice and technical support throughout the business on all matters relevant to track and work within the track support zone.

In addition Robert carries out CEM and CRE roles across the business, most notably acting as CEM for the design and build of the new Inverness Airport station, CEM for the Highland Mainline works at Aviemore and Pitlochry and CRE (Track) for Aberdeen to Inverness GRIP 5-8 works, including the design, planning and delivery of new passing loops at Forres and  Elgin and 16 miles of redoubling between Aberdeen and Inverurie.

Robert is a Fellow of the Permanent Way Institute and regularly gives presentations at both the Glasgow and Edinburgh Sections.
