Overview
The life and works of Isambard Kingdom Brunel are famous but his father, Marc Isambard Brunel, is not so well-known and deserves to be recognised as a brilliant engineer in his own right.
Join ICE Hereford and Worcester for a historical talk, focusing on the life and works of Sir Marc Isambard Brunel, the father of Isambard Kingdom.
Sir Marc, born in France, was responsible for a wide range of engineering projects, including his development of machinery for the manufacture of ships' pulley blocks and the driving of the first tunnel under the River Thames.
