Overview
The event will commence with the Edinburgh Area Branch’s annual general meeting which will include a review of the branch’s activities over the previous 12 months by the chair, treasurer, secretary and ECNet committee chair. This will also include the nomination and election of the committee office bearers for the next 12 months.
There will then be a presentation providing an update on the ongoing refurbishment works to the Grade A-listed North Bridge in Edinburgh city centre. The North Bridge is situated in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, carries the A7 over Waverley Station and is a vital transport link connecting the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh.
The North Bridge was constructed over the period 1894-97 by Sir William Arrol & Co. who were also the contractor responsible for the construction of the Forth Rail Bridge.
