The annual PIANC UK young professionals seminar will take place on Monday 16 September. The event welcomes a number of speakers from a range of engineering firms and backgrounds - Mott MacDonald, Beckett Rankine, VolkerStevin, Nash Maritime, RoyalHaskoningDHV and Proserve.
Each speaker will present for approximately 10 minutes on an array of topics, from innovative quay wall systems to scour protection and electric ferries.
The event will end with drinks and networking at the bar in Kendals based in One Great George Street.

Mott MacDonald
graduate civil engineer
Graduate civil engineer working in the Ports, Coastal and Offshore team. Experience in concept design of fender systems and pontoons, asset inspections, and optioneering studies of breakwaters. Interest in tendering processes.
Beckett Rankine
assistant engineer
Maritime engineering consultant working on projects within the River Thames, such as ferry piers (e.g. Rotherhithe, Putney), flood defence schemes and maintenance of listed structures (e.g. Southend Pier).
VolkerStevin
section engineer
Molly is a civil engineer working for specialist contractor VolkerStevin on the Southsea Coastal Scheme. Since graduating from the University of Bath in 2021, Molly has worked on this once-in-a-generation scheme to strengthen coastal defences and provide flood risk reduction to the city she calls home.
Nash Maritime
marine consultant
Helen has been working in shipping and navigation consultancy since 2019 following her graduation from the University of Aberdeen. The main focus of her work has been around offshore wind farm developments and subsea infrastructure.

Subodh Vijay Kusare worked at the capacity of maritime engineer and project manager with overall industry experience of 8+ years, for variety of jobs across the globe within Royal HaskoningDHV and previous employers.
Experienced in port/river infrastructure design and planning, project management at different stages of projects, located in India, UK and Middle East region.
Proserve
solutions engineer
Mitchell Furborough is a solutions engineer at Proserve Ltd. Mitch predominantly designs and supports the installation of concrete mattress scour protection to prevent erosion in harbours from vessel and wave action.
Mitch holds a masters degree in civil and coastal engineering from Plymouth University and is a Graduate Member of the ICE.
Aimed at students, this series of seven webinars which runs until May 2025 will enable you to learn about professional life from recent graduates from across the industry.
This is an opportunity for Technicians to gather online to discuss ways in which we can help ourselves, each other and the ICE to provide ongoing learning and experience in the wide world of civil engineering.
The last in our series of online events for new engineers and technicians starting their Initial Professional Development (IPD). It is an opportunity to learn about the level of understanding needed for to demonstrate the Knowledge (K) level on an ICE training agreement or mentor supported scheme.
