South Asia Early Careers Network: showcasing PAS 2080, the carbon management standard

Overview

The South Asia Early Careers Network invites you to join a webinar on 18 July highlighting how PAS 2080 is being used to enhance carbon management in the built environment.

First published in 2016, PAS 2080 is a globally applicable standard for managing carbon. With the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and costs through the intelligent design, construction and use of infrastructure, it considers the whole value chain.  

An ICE-sponsored update to PAS 2080 was published in 2023, making the standard freely available and expanding it to cover buildings as well as infrastructure. A guidance document for users was also issued. 

The main themes of the revised standard include:

• The interrelationships of nature-based solutions, climate-resilience interventions and carbon emissions
• Procurement mechanisms to accelerate decarbonisation
• Ways of working to promote collaboration, challenge and innovation 

At this free session, one of the standard’s technical authors, Stuart Cannon, will explain its broadened scope. He’ll discuss how PAS 2080 can be used as part of a systems approach to whole-life carbon management and highlight key features of the guidance document.

The event, moderated by network chair Abhinav Gupta, will also give you the chance to put your questions to Cannon.
