Overview

What needs to change to enable civil engineers in East Coast USA and Canada, and the wider Americas region, to improve productivity and increase efficiency and effectiveness?

ICE President Ed McCann invites ICE members in the Americas (East Coast) to join an online meeting to discuss the themes of his 2021/22 presidency, outlined in his film, How to thrive in the 21st Century.

Ed will share his insights on why improving productivity in the industry is crucial to address the key challenges of today, including climate change, and he’ll explain why civil engineers need a relentless focus on efficiency and effectiveness.

The informal event is an opportunity for members based on the East Coast of USA and Canada, and the wider Americas region, to put their questions direct to the President and raise concerns about moving forward on productivity. Attendees will gain useful insights into how they can improve their own performance in this area.

Phil Holliday, Chair of the ICE Americas Regional Committee, will be hosting the discussion.

This event is the second of two online sessions with the President which focus on the Americas, with the first event being held on 4 May 2022. While the two events are related, each is a standalone event, and they have been scheduled to accommodate the East and West Coast time zones.
