The Concrete Society is a UK based non-profit company founded in 1966 in response to the need for an organisation embracing those interested in concrete.
Gordon Best from the Mineral Products Association, Northern Ireland will give the audience an update on the work going on across a number of mineral product sectors to reduce carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency and eventually reach our goal of net zero and minimising our impact on the environment through biodiversity net gain and world class water management. He will also cover the work going on to reduce our age profile and to improve the diversity of employees across the industry.

Gordon has been Regional Director of the Mineral Products Association NI ( formerly the Quarry Products Association NI ) since 2001. The Association represents 95 % of the supply of construction materials to the NI Construction Industry and is an important employer particularly in rural areas. Gordon is a Board Member of the NI Construction Group, member of the Institute of Quarrying, the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation and the Institute of Asphalt Technology.Gordon also sits on the Consultative Committee of the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland.
With 3 daughters Gordon describes himself as a former part time taxi driver, good listener, keen Golfer, avid Liverpool fan and proud dad
