Charlie Scott, a director at Waterman Structures, will outline the design principles needed to empower engineers to assess and reduce the carbon footprint of their designs.

This event will focus on:

  • retention and re-use,
  • designing using recycled and circular components,
  • techniques to reduce embodied carbon,
  • and detailing for long-life or loose fit.

Charlie Scott

Charlie Scott is a director of Waterman Structures and a champion of sustainable design. He has recently completed a project built using circular economy principles, The Paper Garden. He has pioneered innovative carbon reducing structural systems and sits on the New London Architecture Net Zero committee, where he has helped write the policy statement to boost circular design.
