Wireline (borehole) geophysical logging (WGL) is often considered a valuable complementary service and source of geo-data for ground investigations, deep and shallow lithological formation characterisation, and geo-engineering parameterisation.
Balazs Rigler details that WGL forms an essential part of Fugro’s recently developed Ground Risk Management Framework (GRMF). Quite a few well established WGL methods, which also could add great value to ground risk assessments are still not utilised for geotechnical ground investigations.
In his presentation, Balazs focuses on the benefits and applicability of key and state of the art wireline geophysical logging methods and related geo-data solution packages in geotechnical, hydrogeological, and geological contexts.

Fugro
wireline geophysical logging services manager
Balazs Rigler (Fugro) is the wireline geophysical logging services manager of Fugro in the UK and has a professional background as a geophysical and GIS engineer.
Balazs has more than 20 years of experience in applied geophysics and more specifically in wireline geophysical logging from the last 15 years of his career.
Balazs managed many various wireline logging operations in small and large scale for infrastructure, nuclear, tunnelling, windfarm and other renewables, mining, water and geotechnical clients utilising broad range of state of the art and innovative geophysical methods such as the downhole (nuclear) magnetic resonance.
