The event is to focus on Sustainability in Geotechnics, with a particular attention on work being undertaken within the Yorkshire & Humber region. This is intended to also provide networking opportunities, with refreshment breaks included within the programme.
Entries to the YGG 2023 Poster Competition will be showcased during the event, with judging taking place and the winner announced.

Dr Ana Heitor leads interdisciplinary research on climate driven deterioration of the behaviour of engineered materials (soils and wastes) and the use of low carbon stabilisation methods for enhancing performance and resiliency of geotechnical assets.
She is a Chartered Engineer and has 20 years experience in geotechnical research, industry practice and consulting. She is currently the deputy director of student education and leads the geotechnical group in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds.

Colin has over 55 years’ experience in the construction and civil engineering industry with top companies including Laing Construction, John Howard, Kier, Tarmac and John Mowlem PLC.
Prior to setting up Deep Soil Mixing Ltd, Colin worked with business partner Robert McGall on soil mixing projects, as well as on very large ground engineering projects. Colin was also part of the Government funded research into Soil Mixing Remediation Technology (SMiRT) back in 2010 with Robert and Cambridge University which led to the development of new soil mixing technology.
