Overview

Brought to you by ICE and CIHT Yorkshire & Humber's Early Careers Networks groups, this complimentary event is for professionals in the highways and transportation industry who want to connect with likeminded individuals whilst also learning about a recent awarding winning scheme.

Following the award of ‘CIHT Small Project of the Year’ in 2024 for Y&H region, this presentation will cover SCP’s involvement in the Rotherham Motorway Service Area, through detailed design and construction. We’ll discuss the early site constraints that were identified and how our highways and geotechnical design solutions addressed these issues while also delivering additional sustainability benefits.

We'll also highlight several challenges faced during the construction phase, how these were resolved, and outline strategies that could be used in future projects to help mitigate similar issues.

If you're interested in joining our committee, getting involved, or sharing ideas for future events, please contact us or request to be added to the mailing list at: [email protected]
