Overview

In a world where AI is increasingly creeping in to every aspect of our lives, our ability to communicate becomes our only tether to human connection. We were taught how to talk when we were little, but in adult life has anyone ever really taught you to communicate in the world of work. No? Then join this mini-workshop to learn some tips and tricks for improving your communication skills.

The session will be run by Romilly Bobby, Chair of the ICE East of England ECNet.

The workshop will be followed by networking and the ICE East of England ECNet AGM.

The AGM will cover:

  • Outgoing message from ICE EoE ECNet Chair Romilly Bobby
  • Incoming message from ICE EoE ECNet Chair Sharafiab Chowdhury
  • New member committee voting

If you wish to join the ICE East of England ECNet committee, please submit your nomination in writing to [email protected] by Monday 16 November.

Incoming Chair of ICE East of England Early Careers Network (ECNet)

I am Sharafiab, a Graduate Structural Engineer at Mott MacDonald with two years of industry experience working on a range of projects, from offices to infrastructure. I was previously the Learning and Development Lead for the ICE East of England ECNet, where I organised events including a construction site visit to the Botanic Place development in Cambridge and a talk from a University of Cambridge academic on the latest advancements in digital twin technology.

I hope to continue the work ECNet has done in developing its members. My aim is to help strengthen professional networks across the region through engaging events, while also organising greater collaboration with other ECNets. I look forward to working with organisations across the region to create opportunities that benefit our members and make a positive impact on the industry as a whole.
