Book nowOverview
Whilst governments are focused on meeting their net zero targets, it's increasingly clear that climate change is already having an impact. Countries’ critical infrastructure is facing risks that it was not designed to handle, with extreme weather events happening more frequently.
In the UK, there is growing urgency to better understand and act on the economic case for resilience and adaptation. This event will mark the launch of ICE’s latest policy paper, “Making resilience count: The economic value of climate readiness”, which will set out a practical approach to strengthening how resilience is valued within national decision-making.
The panel will explore key recommendations for embedding resilience into investment frameworks, with a particular focus on implications for HM Treasury, regulation, and long-term infrastructure planning. Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and academics, the discussion will examine how to move from strategic intent to delivery, and how economic tools can support more informed, future-ready decisions.
Taking place at One Great George Street, this event offers attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the findings and contribute to shaping the policy debate ahead of the 2027 Spending Review.
Questions for the panel are welcome in advance, before August 24, to help guide the discussion, with further opportunities for audience engagement during the session.
