Overview

Keeping it Civil is a relaxed lunchtime series bringing together professionals from across the civil engineering industry for informal, fireside chat–style discussions.

In each session, a guest speaker will briefly introduce their background, share the journey that led them to their current role, and talk about what their day-to-day work in civil engineering involves.

Each talk will last around 20–25 minutes, followed by approximately 20 minutes of audience Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions, explore different career journeys, and gain insight into the wide range of roles within the industry.

Whether you're curious about career paths, industry challenges, or what civil engineers actually do, Keeping it Civil offers an engaging way to learn directly from those working in the field.

This first talk will be presented by Rhys Cotterell providing an insight into his career working at the consultancy AtkinsRéalis.
