Overview

The K.J. Bathe Award was established in honour of Professor Klaus-Jürgen Bathe, a pioneer of finite element analysis with many research and industrial contributions to the analysis of solids and structures, heat transfer, field problems, computational fluid dynamics, and fluid-structure interactions (https://meche.mit.edu/people/faculty/[email protected]).

The winner of the 2026 award is Prof. George Em Karniadakis from Brown University (USA).

The award ceremony and public lecture will take place in Wolfson Hall, Churchill College at 5pm, Monday 26th Oct.

Invited guests, including those registered via the ICE website, can also attend the reception at Jock Colville Hall and formal dinner at the Main Dining Hall, after the public lecture.
