Road to ICE Professional Qualification and membership

Overview

This session aims to provide the pathway for early career engineers to achieve professionally-qualified membership with ICE, including the routes towards Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer and Chartered Engineer membership.

It will cover the key stages of professional qualification including education, Initial Professional Development and Professional Review.

Dr Jenny Illingsworth will give an introduction to the ICE, its membership grades and its requirements at each membership level. She will focus on Chartership but will include other professionally-qualified grades, and outline what you can do if you enter at one membership level and upgrade to higher levels.

She will outline the routes available to achieve professional qualification and give practical steps you can take to record and confirm your progress towards achieving the capabilities and requirements for your professional ICE membership.

The key membership requirement is defined in the ICE member attributes; she will also focus on these and help you understand how you can reflect on your own experience so you can demonstrate how you meet the relevant membership specification.
