Delivering a Northern Infrastructure Strategy: ICE launches report in Liverpool

ICE has launched Delivering a Northern Infrastructure Strategy which recommends a clear way forward for planning and delivering high performing infrastructure alongside regional coordination and an ambitious investment programme.

The report outlines how well planned, delivered and managed infrastructure has the capacity to unlock the North’s potential, increase productivity and improve quality of life.

There are 12 recommendations for increasing leadership and setting strategic investment objectives for the North.

Delivering a Northern Infrastructure Strategy was coordinated by ICE and delivered by an expert steering group comprised of engineers, businesses and local government organisations from across the North.

Richard Threlfall, steering group chair and KPMG Partner and UK Head of Infrastructure, Building and Construction, authored the final report.

At the launch event in Liverpool, ICE handed the report to Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool, in front of the world record-breaking ICE LEGO bridge.

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Manchester, and Ben Houchen, Mayor of Tees Valley, have also both received the report.
