Professional Review written exercise to change

We are making changes to the written exercise element of the Chartered and Member Professional Reviews - some with immediate effect others from July 2018.

Written exercise: move to reduce possibility of plagiarism
Written exercise: move to reduce possibility of plagiarism

The written exercise is part of the Chartered and Member Professional Reviews. The changes reduce the potential risk of plagiarism and will ensure a fair and level playing field for all candidates.

With immediate effect

Internet access will not be permitted during the written exercise.

Candidates can still bring in hard copy reference materials or access information stored on their laptop. However it is important that you fully reference any pre-existing material used in your written exercise as otherwise it will be deemed to be plagiarism.

For more detail see our  updated guidance.

From 1 July 2018

Candidates sitting their Professional Review from 1 July 2018 will be limited to two sides of A4 pre-prepared material only. Internet access will not be permitted. Except for the two sides of A4 other reference materials – hard copy or stored on a laptop – will no longer be permitted.

Guidance will be updated to reflect this by September 2017.
