Action required on procurement
Large businesses need clear and sensible boundaries for procurement procedures and processes. This helps ensure competition, guard against fraud, underpin corporate governance requirements, provide value for money and level the field in terms of the application of law on the ground.
- Certainty is required as to whether the UK intends to amend or repeal individual procurement legislation.
- If repealing legislation is an option, greater consideration of the impact on UK firms who bid for work within the EU is needed, as they would need to abide by EU legislation.
