Hundreds of people have been affected by the blaze.
The ICE has sent a message of support to all the people who’ve been affected by a major fire that engulfed multiple high-rise residential buildings in Hong Kong this week.
Janet Young, ICE director general, said: “Our thoughts are with all those affected by the devastating fires in Hong Kong. The ICE stands ready to offer its expertise to the authorities as they investigate this tragedy.
“ICE members who have been impacted by the fires should contact the ICE Benevolent Fund for guidance and support.”
What’s currently known about the fire
The blaze broke out in the Wang Fuk Court complex in the Tai Po district of Hong Kong.
It affected seven out of eight tower blocks in the complex, where thousands of people live.
At least 83 people have died in the tragedy, with 76 injured. Nearly 300 people are still missing.
Renovation materials being investigated
According to the BBC, the exact cause of the fire is not yet known.
However, the police have said that materials used on the outside of the buildings, during extensive renovations that were taking place, may have caused it to spread faster.
