In our submission, we call on the Parliamentary Select Committee for Energy and Climate Change to focus its scrutiny of Government policy into energy and climate change on five key areas:
- Policy barriers to electricity storage
- Review of Carbon Budgets
- Encouraging renewable heat/cooling and transport
- Review of new nuclear
- Affordability
The submission also outlines recommendations for short term priorities on reviewing the Levy Control Framework, the recent changes to renewables support programmes, carbon intensity targets, and the need to tighten capacity margins.
