Mixed results are reported, including the region reporting some of the lowest levels of renewable energy capacity in the country alongside greatly improved water supply through reducing leakage.

Scientists and engineers from the UK and Portugal are currently working together to develop low-carbon ground energy systems, predominantly to cool buildings in hot cities. This presentation will present the concepts developed to date, including the drilling work recently completed in Lisbon.
