Early Careers Network (ECNet)

Getting involved with ECNet is a fantastic way to learn new skills and make industry contacts. You can also build up your initial professional development (IPD) which is an essential part of preparing for professional qualification later on.

How can the ECNet support you

Early Careers Network is here to:

  • support members
  • help them develop themselves and the ICE
  • exchange civil engineering information and ideas

Most ECNet activities are organised by its graduate and student committee groups. They do lots of great, and often free, things such as:

  1. Preparing for Professional Reviews: talks, workshops and written exercise group sessions.
  2. Broadening knowledge: interesting technical meetings, courses and lectures.
  3. Social events that allow networking and knowledge-sharing with other members.
  4. Competitions and awards that recognise members' hard work and achievements such as visits to schools or careers fairs to promote civil engineering to young people (with the help of ICE ambassadors).

Your local ECNet committee

ECNet committees are mainly based across the UK, but can also be found in Hong Kong.

There are a number of student chapters based outside the UK supporting local members.
