This is the first of four episodes of the 'Liveable Cities' programme: looking at how our cities have evolved and the urbanisation challenges facing society. Key questions throughout the programme, which will be introduced in this episode, are:

  • How do we meet the needs of a growing urban population?
  • How liveable are our city centres?
