ICE Hong Kong's committees bring together like-minded people and give members the chance to help influence and shape our work.
As well as influencing our priorities, committees work to create an annual programme of events, ranging from technical lectures to visits to ongoing projects and other sites of interest to civil engineers.
The region is made up of the Hong Kong Executive Board, Hong Kong Regional Committee and the Hong Kong Graduates and Students Committee.
Committee members are volunteers and come from a range of backgrounds within the civil engineering profession.

Regional committee
The Regional Board is charged with furthering the objectives of ICE in Hong Kong. It is responsible for giving guidance and advice to the Hong Kong Association (HKA) and the Regional Support Team, and setting strategy for the RST in supporting our activities.
The Chairman of the Hong Kong Regional Board is the ICE Representative for Hong Kong. Other members of the Board and their specific duties are:
- Hong Kong Representative on Council - responsible for facilitating communication between ICE Hong Kong with ICE's International Policy Committee and the Council
- Chairperson of HKA - responsible for leading HKA to promote learned society activities
- Regional Director for Hong Kong - responsible for leading the RST to promote membership, administer & control high profile projects and, as resources allow, support the activities of HKA.
The Regional Board can also invite eminent ICE members to act as Honorary Advisors.

Hong Kong Association session 2025-26
ICE Hong Kong Association (ICE HKA) was established in November 1999. It's one of the largest regions outside the UK.
The object of the association is to promote, develop and expand the public perception of the role, duties and achievements of civil engineers. As a learned society, the association has initiated and planned a range of events to help the exchange of expert civil engineering knowledge.

HKA G&S committee
The Graduates and Students Division (G&S) is a sub-division of the Institution of Civil Engineers Hong Kong Association (HKA). Comprising recent graduates and current students embarking on a civil engineering career in Hong Kong, the G&S emphasises both professional and personal development and connects graduate and student members with the industry.
G&S prides itself on its variety of opportunities, spanning site visits, hands-on workshops, enrichment seminars, networking opportunities, overseas delegations and much more. We spare no effort in promoting civil engineering among the next generation, with initiatives covering industry visits, experiential learning, idea pitching and career talks. G&S also maintains strong ties with young committees of local professional institutions and local branches of reputable institutions.
G&S delivers professional development and networking opportunities through its five event teams.
Delegation team
- overseas delegations for members to appreciate engineering best practices overseas and promote ICE to overseas professionals
- sharing sessions where delegates share and consolidate their takeaways from delegations
External engagement team
- joint events with other professional bodies, covering both professional development and networking
- the flagship Shaping Our Future City campaign that aims to promote civil engineering profession to high secondary school students
Personal development team
- various workshops on personal wellbeing, professional ethics and other soft skills
- a scenario-based pitching competition reminiscent of conducting a consultation forum
- local guided tours on geology, ecosystems, and heritage
Site visit and seminar team
- annual symposium, technical seminars, webinars and site visits
- workshops with mock CPR interviews
- local heat for international competition on best engineering research
Student development team
- early careers opportunity for university students, including company visits and interview CV workshops
- a hands-on model building competition with representatives from local universities
- promotion of ICE to university students
