From teaching maths to struggling students as a higher-level teaching assistant to co-leading school outreach programs, Inez has shown incredible dedication to inspiring the next generation of engineers. She's created innovative online work experience schemes, partnered with local schools, and consistently opened doors for students who might not otherwise see civil engineering as accessible. Congratulations, Inez!
Inez's entry will also be considered for the STEM Ambassador of the Year competition, which includes all UK regions.

Norton and Raveningham Pumping Station Replacement
The judges thought the Water Management Alliance Norton and Raveningham Pumping Station Replacement project stood out particularly for two reasons.
The judges were particularly impressed by the project team's outstanding collaboration during very complex operations, often with limited historic data and tight time constraints. The team evidenced exceptional planning, technical, and communication skills to deliver effective solutions, safely and sustainably, under pressure. A shining example of civil engineering at its finest.
Cockett Wick Seawall Improvements
The judges thought there was a significant long term impact on the communities as a result of the actions of the project team in addition to the flood risk reduction of the seawall.
There was community involvement throughout the project and, in particular, the contractor’s engagement with local schools.
Oliver Manning, Jackson Civil Engineering
The judges thought it's refreshing to see Oliver engaging with the need to attract more women into construction and civil engineering by establishing a relationship with Suffolk Girlguiding - also utilising the above mentioned excavator activity to engage this audience.
Megan Spriggs, Tony Gee
The judges thought particularly impressive was her voluntary roles with local schools and STEM activities giving children particularly the opportunity to learn about Engineering.
Added to this is her promotion of Women in Engineering as an active member of the Empowering Women Group and her track record in ensuring that appropriate fitting PPE is available for women.
Showcasing our student and graduate members originality and communication skills in this regional, then international competition, with the winner receiving the Emerging Engineers Cup.
