Overview
This presentation will give an introduction to 507 Specialist Team Royal Engineers (Rail Infra), the rail industries sole Army Reserve unit and the British Army’s expeditionary railway warfare capability. It will highlight the history of the employment of railways in war by the Army and the Royal Engineers.
The presentation will reflect on the changes and development of the railway capability since deployment of 507 STRE in the 2003 Iraq War in order to face future threats through the units continuous improvement programme using its annual training exercises to innovate the military railway capability.
