Overview

Guided by experienced Recommended Geopark Guide (R2G) staff, participants will embark on a full-day island-hopping tour, jointly organised by ICE HKA G&S and HKIE GD, across the Northeast New Territories Sedimentary Rock Region.

Departing by vessel from Ma Liu Shui Pier, the tour travels through the Tolo Channel to Lai Chi Chong. There, participants will take part in a land-based tour to explore rare volcanic sedimentary rocks, distinctive coastal landscapes, and local mangrove habitats while learning about coastal geomorphology and ecology.

The journey continues to Grass Island (also known as Tap Mun) for a provided lunch and a land-based exploration of the island's natural and cultural heritage. On the return trip to Ma Liu Shui Pier, the vessel will pass by Port Island, offering participants a chance to observe its striking coastal features directly from the sea.
