Nigel Davies

Nigel is a chartered quantity surveyor and solicitor-advocate with over 30 years of experience, holds an impressive array of qualifications, including multiple degrees in construction, law, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

He is a Fellow of several prestigious institutions such as CICES, RICS, CIOB, and CIArb, and serves as a Chartered Arbitrator, Adjudicator, and Mediator. His career began as a quantity surveyor, working on a variety of projects across sectors like commercial offices, shopping centres, high-end residential developments, and rail infrastructure.

This foundation led him to specialise in commercial and contractual management and construction law. Nigel has handled over 350 adjudications and resolved disputes ranging from minor claims to multi-million-pound issues.

He is proficient in standard construction contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, IChemE, etc.), and his expertise spans contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution. He is also a committed educator, regularly delivering seminars and tailored training sessions.

Nigel’s combined legal and construction expertise positions him as a highly versatile and innovative leader in his field.

Claire King

Claire is recommended in Legal 500 and listed as a Thought Leader in the Lexology Index (previously Who’s Who).

She is an experienced partner at Fenwick Elliott, a leading specialist firm in the field of construction and energy.

She is on the steering committee for the King’s College and Adjudication Society study of Adjudication as well as serving on the Adjudication Society Committee as Secretary and has been published in numerous journals.

She sits on the ICE’s Dispute Resolution Panel. 

Suryen Nullatamby

Suryen Nullatamby is an award-winning lawyer specialising in construction law and dispute resolution, consistently ranked in Legal 500 over several years. As a trusted adjudicator and arbitrator, he serves on multiple UK panels, delivering clarity and fairness in complex disputes across the built environment.

With extensive experience representing main contractors, sub-contractors, employers, developers, public bodies, and construction professionals, Suryen advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters under common and civil law. His practice spans a wide range of construction and engineering issues, with a particular focus on adjudication and arbitration. Suryen holds an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution from King’s College London and a Diploma in Adjudication from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, underscoring his commitment to professional excellence and integrity.

Carly Thorpe

Carly is a solicitor who specialises in construction and engineering law. Carly advises clients on managing risks before, during and after construction and infrastructure projects, and in avoiding, resolving, and minimising the impact of construction related disputes.

Carly is a practicing adjudicator of construction and engineering disputes and sits on the UKA, CIARB and RICS President's Adjudicator Panel. Carly's role as an adjudicator and a party representative provides unique insight into what frequently goes wrong on construction and infrastructure projects and how such issues might be avoided.

Carly is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Carly
serves as executive committee member and regional coordinator of the National Adjudication Society.

Carly was awarded the European Women in Construction Award – Construction Law 2025 and the O Shaped
Lawyer Award 2024 for her work in improving diversity in the legal profession.
