Overview

Join us for a presentation from Balfour Beatty and the Scottish Prison Service on the HMP Highland project.

The new HMP Highland will replace the 120-year-old HMP Prison Inverness (also known as Porterfield Prison) in the city centre with a new facility in the Inverness Campus area. The new £200 million facility will have capacity for 200 male prisoners as well as various rehabilitation areas and services.

Speakers Aiden Teague (Balfour Beatty) and Marc Breen (Scottish Prison Service) will discuss the history of HMP Prison Inverness, the requirement for a new facility and provide an overview of what the new facility includes. They will discuss the initial ground investigation, the building works, and some of the engineering challenges encountered to date.

Please note the presentation will not be recorded or broadcast online for security purposes, so this is an in-person only event.
