Overview

Organised in Dubai by the ICE United Arab Emirates, this in-person learned event will explore how sustainable infrastructure, carbon reduction and trusted certification are helping shape the future of cities in the UAE and beyond. Featuring ICE President David Porter as guest of honour, the session will include presentations from speakers from CARES and Expo City Dubai, offering insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering resilient, low-carbon infrastructure.

The event will examine the role of sustainable urban development, climate resilience and resource efficiency in creating future-ready communities. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the UAE Steel Regulation and the growing importance of quality assurance, independent certification and digital traceability in the construction sector.

Through expert presentations and a Q&A session, participants will learn how innovation, transparency and collaboration can support the delivery of a more sustainable and resilient built environment. The event is open to ICE members across all grades, students and other professionals with an interest in sustainable infrastructure and engineering, with priority given to ICE members based in the UAE.
