Overview

John Roberts, managing director at Vinci Building, will provide an overview of the rapidly expanding application of technology in health and safety across construction sites, highlighting solutions that are largely available and deployable today.

The presentation will also reflect on how advancements in artificial intelligence are creating new opportunities to enhance the use of site-based software and the value derived from real-time data.

The session will include an overview of technologies supporting site access control, as well as induction and training processes, including wayfinding and tools designed to assist operatives on their first day on site.

It will then examine how on-site technologies are reducing operational risk, including the use of people- and presence-detection cameras to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and establish safety zones around plant and equipment.

Finally, the presentation will review emerging developments in robotics, including examples of machines that are already being deployed on construction sites.
