CityZen: Pollution Control will help young people understand the positive impact of civil engineers. It’s free to play.
ICE has launched a digital ‘whodunnit’ game that promotes civil engineering careers and a clean planet.
ICE CityZen: Pollution Control requires players to research the causes of pollution in the game, gaining insight into environmental, social, financial and political aspects of civil engineering.
The game was developed with expert input from members of the ICE’s education and inspiration advisory group.
It covers a broad range of topics including:
- Pollution
- Sustainability
- Protected species and environments
- Water quality and management
- Ethics
ICE CityZen: Pollution Control can be found in the ICE Inspire virtual careers centre. CityZen posters can be seen on the interior and exterior of the building.
The game is free and available for everyone aged 11 and over.
The ICE CityZen Award
ICE CityZen: Pollution Control is a taster of the institution’s ICE CityZen Award, a team challenge for UK students aged 16-18.
The award runs in the autumn term and consists of a four-round digital game and creative project.
It gives participants formal recognition and the chance to win prizes.
The award is supported by ICE STEM Ambassadors. Find out more about how to become an ICE CityZen Award mentor.
